Guidelines for Photo & Signature Sizing in Government Job Applications
Almost all official online application portals (such as Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB), and State Police Departments) require candidate photographs and signatures to be uploaded within strict file sizes and dimensions. If the sizes are not compliant, the application system will reject the file, or worse, your application could be rejected later.
SSC Photo & Sign Specs
- Photo size: 20 KB to 50 KB
- Photo dimensions: 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm (approx. 350x450 px)
- Signature size: 10 KB to 20 KB
- Signature dimensions: 4.0 cm x 2.0 cm (approx. 140x60 px)
- Format: JPEG / JPG only
UPSC Photo & Sign Specs
- Photo size: 20 KB to 300 KB
- Photo dimensions: Min 350 x 350 pixels, Max 1000 x 1000 pixels
- Signature size: 20 KB to 300 KB
- Signature dimensions: Min 350 x 350 pixels, Max 1000 x 1000 pixels
- Format: JPG / JPEG only
IBPS & Bank Exam Specs
- Photo size: 20 KB to 50 KB
- Photo dimensions: 200 x 230 pixels
- Signature size: 10 KB to 20 KB
- Signature dimensions: 140 x 60 pixels
- Left Thumb Impression: 20 KB to 50 KB (240x240 px)
